Disposable, compostable and biodegradable bowls made from 100-percent bagasse, the sugarcane fiber that remains after extracting the juice from the sugarcane. Sugarcane is not only a readily renewable resource, but the sugarcane fiber can be turned into products normally made from plastic and paper and prevents the pollution from the normal burning of sugarcane waste after juice extraction. Our biodegradable bowls are soak proof, have no plastic or wax lining, and can be used for both hot and cold items. Please note, that though these compostable bowls are soak proof, hot items will cause the bowls to "perspire" and some condensation will form at the bottom of the bowls. A far superior alternative to Styrofoam & plastic (non-biodegradable, petroleum derived, pollutant) and as well as paper bowls made from cutting down trees. We now offer "unbleached" bagasse bowls - in natural light brown color. Bleaching is usually unnecessary, creates pollution, and is mostly done using chlorine or chlorine compounds, which release "dioxins" - persistent organic pollutants which do not break down easily and accumulate in the food stream. We are slowly moving towards only carrying "unbleached" bagasse items as they become available to us. Please note, composting is required for biodegradation and these compostable plates will biodegrade within 30 days in a commercial composting facility, and within 90 days in a home composting system.

We used these for ice cream sundaes for kids and adults at a pool picnic. These bowls may be the most cost effective green item I have ever purchased (usually the price is MORE expensive than items that don’t support sustainability). This is an excellent choice. Held melting ice cream beautifully. I wish they were available at more stores.
These paper bowls are stronger than I would have expected, and waterproof. I used them to feed an outdoor cat and they retained their shape even after a rain, so have been able re-use them a few times. Have purchased again. Recommended for paper plates or bowls. Sturdier than most paper plates/ bowls. And say no to plastic!
We purchased the plates and bowls and are impressed with the sturdy hold, smells fresh and nice - BUT they are not meant for soup or chili as intended because they soak through eventually - or greasy spot. BUT we are NOT disappointed because we will use them for the salad which will work perfectly! No regrets!
This line of paper plates and bowls is the paper equivalent of the GOOD china. I would use these for full dinners, not just sandwiches and snacks. (Use the cheap paper plates for those.) they’re very thick and sturdy.
Ok price, ok bowl. My problem with it is that the page says soak proof but the bowl does not say soak proof anywhere. So why do they think it's soak proof. I don't really want to waste a bowl or make a mess to test it. Either way even if it is soak resistant they shouldn't claim that if the company who made it doesn't even advertise it on the bowls. The materila is rough not smooth just an fyi
